Chess pieces in ordinary text
The twelve classic chess characters represent six white and six black pieces. They work well in headings, simple diagrams and annotations, though their visual color is determined by the glyph rather than by a board theme.
Use chess notation or an accessible board format for complete games. A sequence of piece characters alone does not preserve squares, moves or the state of a position.
